Yes Jana - having the Windows screen saver that needs a password is a big help. Doesn't make your computer impervious, but sure makes it a lot harder for "the average person" to steal your data. Just make sure the screen saver time is sufficiently short that someone won't have time to sneak over to your computer after you walk away before the screen saver activates. Most businesses use around a 5 minute delay, but you know your own environment's risks and can determine the best delay.

Mike,
Thanks. When I started watching this I thought, wow, cool! I could really use something like this! THEN, I started thinking about what you said, and how ANYONE could just stick it into ANY computer to get all the data! I have important information password protected, but if someone used this, they could eventually hack into it with a little time and effort. I guess the safest thing to do, is like you said, NEVER leave your computer unattended!
I saw the Windows-L thing. Wouldn't a screensaver that needs a password work the same way?

Mike,

Thanks for another great tip ... not only about using this device but also the caution about how it could be used by someone else to easily accesss your data.
