Solving the Problem of Spam and Junk Email

The anti-spam tools and techniques were first reviewed in the April e-Savvy E-Zine. Since that time, the nice people at Network Associates have replied to my e-mails and phone calls and have made some nice enhancements to their product, Spam Killer. The tool still needs some improvements, but I find that using the tool is so much better than having to deal manually with the 100 to 200 spam messages that arrive every single day. If you are only getting 12 spam messages a day, you probably don't need to use Spam Killer. Unless, that is, you are getting even one message that is beyond your tolerable level of acceptability. I was getting a few of those - totally disgusting - and am thrilled that Spam Killer now kills them before they even have a chance to display on the screen.

In the beginning, you will need to invest some time training Spam Killer, but the time invested is well worth it. You will tell the software who your friends are, and also who you don't want to hear from anymore. You will also identify what countries you want to allow mail to arrive from. As mail arrives, you will create filters based on sender, subject, and content. The training goes faster than you probably think. And, of course, you can always review the "killed mail" to be sure your filters aren't too strict.

If you have had enough of the spam, then give Spam Killer a try.
